With Shopify Edition, we’re sharing our big bets in commerce and the latest innovations to help those ambitious enough to try their hand at entrepreneurship and grow faster than ever.
In addition to Hydrogen and Oxygen, Shopify has introduced a new Checkout Extensibility feature that allows developers and merchants to design useful Checkout modifications that focus on speed and flexibility.

Shopify, in an email, had the following to say:
Remission is the number one pain point expressed by merchants, and now, merchants will be able to access apps for their customers in their dashboard with better, faster, and more customized discount options, no coding required. App developers will now be able to reach millions of merchants with discount apps built on Functions, providing merchants with more reliable, secure, and performant discount functionality than ever before. Shopify Functions was built with performance and scalability in mind, and it can scale to handle global sales events – while still executing code in less than five milliseconds.
