How To Insert And Modify A Table In A Joomla Article

Tables are a great way to organize and display your data. In this article we’re going to go over how to create and modify tables using the editor in Joomla.

Step 1:

Log in, click “Content” and then click on “Articles” on the drop down menu that appears.

Step 2:

Click The Article Title You Want To Edit To Add Table Or Click “+New” Tab To Open The Article Editor

Step 3:

Use the Table Control to Select How Large You Would Like Your Table

Click on the cells to add text. You can use the “What You See Is What You Get” editor to format the text.

Step 4: Configure Table Properties

Choose the table and click on, “Table Properties”.

Insert Row After Other Rows

Click “Insert Row After”. This will insert a new row before the row where your cursor is currently positioned.

Delete Row

To delete a row, select the row you want to delete and click on “Delete Row”.

Inserting Columns Before Other Columns

Click the column and click the “Insert Column Before” button. This will insert a column on the left side of the column you selected.

Use the “Insert Column After” button to insert a column after the selected column

Delete Columns

Use the “Delete Column” button to delete the selected column.

Merging Cells

Select the cells you want to merge into one and click on “Table”, then click “Cell” from the drop-down menu and click on “Merge cells”. See below:

Split Cells

If you want to split the cell, select the cell you want to split and click the “Table” button, then click “Cell” from the drop-down menu and then click “Splitcell”.
