When you set out to pick a web host for your business, there are three important performance metrics you must consider before you choose. They are server speed, uptime, and loading time.
The uptime shows you how consistently your host’s servers have been online over a defined period. The server speeds measure how fast users receive information from the host’s server when they log on to your website. The loading time determines the speed at which your web pages will load when a user is on your website.
All these metrics are super important because higher server speed and quicker load times mean less bounce rate. Less bounce rate will give better rankings on search engines. Higher rankings will lead to more traffic and ultimately more sales.
GreenGeeks guarantees 99.9% uptime with incredibly fast page loads and server speeds. To measure the accuracy of this claim, I tested the performance of oregonmarketingpros.com – a website hosted on GreenGeeks.
The test tool used was GTMetrix and these were the results:
GreenGeeks had a quick response time (time to first byte) of 326ms and a fully loaded time of 1.6 seconds. The overall performance of the domain was 91% which is quite impressive.

Beware of the deceiving “unlimited” capacity, it is not unlimited as it seems!
I’m their customer for more than 10 years. They announce “unlimited” email capacity to attract customers and after few years they start troubling you with TOS violation. The silly thing that, they need us to remove emails older than 30 days! This is really rediculous. We decided to move to another hosting company, although we regret it because they have a really good customer service. But, as a company, we need flexibility in email storage capacity to at least 6 months, to be able to access emails from multiple devices
Got a reasonable deal on 3yr hosting but then cost jumped to$16/mo for 3yr at nearly $600. I told support I’d be leaving, moved companies but I was still charged. I complained loudly, got a refund for all but one month… even though I never renewed and left before the end of my contract. I guess getting screwed or off $16 is better than 600 but the whole affair has me angry. Read other reviews and see how hard it is to block autorenew and get out early. I’d even put a block on your credit card or change CC numbers.
Had been hosting 2 domains with them for 3 years. Auto renewed my plan for 4x original price on CHRISTMAS DAY. No phone call prior, just and email that got buried in spam 14 days before. Customer retention and service refuses to work with me. Would not give them another dime. All future business will be taken elsewhere. Avoid.
Not user friendly and customer service was zero help!
They are supposed to be hosting my websites. My websites have not worked properly since migrating from my previous provider. Links are broken and I am unable to get them to work. Very user unfriendly. Don’t waste your time or money. Customer service sucks.
This company (which provides very average and normal service) engages in dishonest and deceptive billing tactics. Two years in a row I was billed incorrectly. This year – I cancelled – using their very complicated method and they still charged me. I am disputing and filing complaints with the State.
Everyone should know they are a terrible company with terrible customer service. I recommend staying away.
engages in dishonest tactics] not showing important details upfront or hiding terms of use, i feel as if i just got ripped off. im very disappointed. I dont recommend this service specially if you are a begginner amd dont want to waste time in asking lots of questions. The way they trick before and after sales and in the setup process makes you hate them after payment for not being transparent.i asked for a refund after 15 hours and is a nightmare.
The 24/7 live chat has saved me many times and is always very helpful. I wish the domain hosting were included in the reseller so I could set up the domains for clients more easily. Would be nice to be able to invoice clients directly from the reseller account or at least have multiple credit cards for payments from clients. The free SSL is great considering how much others charge. But it is a nuisance to constantly have to regenerate the certifications. This is the 4th hosting provider I have used in 5 years. So far have stayed the longest with them. After the big name ones, this customer service is a dream come true.
The worst customer service, there is no refund window when you renew, and they have hidden ToS that you do not have access to unless you ask them or you have a question and they just pop it out of nowhere. They are extremely shady. I do not recommend them. I can not wait til I can get away from them and move to someone else.
I was referred to greengeeks as highly recommended, spoke with the sale person about transferring and a bunch of other questions answered them really well, i was very impressed about the price and the unlimited server space, but that’s when everything went pair shaped and took a turn for the worst very quickly. As part of the service there was a free cpanel migration, i was getting emails from the migration tea, towards the end of the night 10pm est time saying the cpanel size is too big bal bla bla so i had to remove parts of the website just for the migration team to be able to start the process around midnight they started to send email stating that it was complete etc. then for some reason i get an automated email saying congratulations on starting your new account the team decided to move the registered account to another domain i stayed up until 1am responding to late emails trying to figure out why they would do that. woke up at 5am from email saying that the process is now complete your server is up and running you just need to update the nameservers, why would i need to do that when they were already propagated from the previous day. Long story short the unlimited disk space was actually limited and there was no room on the server even to upload a html file of 1kb, but the server migration team said that it was and SSL issue so i then spoke to support about my frustration and they said no worries sir i will sort it out, they came back to me saying they can’t find my index file to my account i then told them it is because you can create a html file because there is no server space on my unlimited account so from 6am until 9am i called them up from Australia asking to speak with management, got an email at 9:20am saying that there QA department will contact me for a solution it is 2pm now, still no word only just to inform me that they have escalated the matter. ohh by the way my cpanel account was only 30 gig so a 30 gig in a unlimited server space account is the limit they should clearly state unlimited mean (28gb space) so in conclusion very bad customers experience with no solution my website is still not loading and false advertising for a unlimited server space. I strongly advise to go with a provider in your own country or a company that actually cares about their customers, just pay a little extra for that customer service, i guess you get what you pay for that is the old expression.
