My main focus will be the Business plan, so I’m not going to bother you much with information about the other plans. If you’re interested to learn more about each of the plans, you can get information in the images above.
As I already mentioned, the Business plan is the most affordable or the cheapest. It supports up to 5 websites, 10GB storage, and 100GB bandwidth. You already know that I always buy the cheapest plans, so now it’s time to get Business. I will get 65% off for the first month, and I think that’s a great deal.
Business will give me a proper insight into WPX, and I will do my best to show what you can get for the money. The first step for purchasing the plan is to click on buy now, so let’s do this!
A few seconds after I clicked on buy now, I had to choose between two options: I already have a website or have purchased my domain, or am launching a new website, so I am looking for a suitable domain. I already have a domain that I use for my testing adventures, so I will choose the first option.
I typed in my domain name and clicked on Continue. Then I had to choose a location closest to my audience for even more speed. You have three available locations: USA(Chicago), UK(London), and Australia (Sidney).
Europe is unavailable, so I had to go with the UK (London).
The next step is to set up the account. At this point, you need to type in some information, such as country, first name, city, address, e-mail, account type, etc.
In less than a minute, I finished filling in my information.
Then I had to choose the payment method. You have two options: paying via PayPal or with a bank card. I clicked on “bank card”, and then I clicked on Checkout.
The second I clicked on Checkout, a small window appeared on my screen that said WPX Hosting GDPR Compliant Privacy Policy. I quickly went over it and then clicked on Accept.
My client area was created in a few seconds. Here, you can download the Invoice or print it if you want to. I didn’t want to do those things, so I clicked on the Payment method. I noticed that WPX automatically set my payment via PayPal, which I didn’t choose. I used their live chat to discuss this and soon found out that my account was fraudulent.
So I switched the card, and everything worked great! Their live support was incredible, but we will discuss that later in the other section.
After quickly solving my issues, I got to WPX Dashboard. Here you can see your purchased plan, the price, and you have the option to add hosting.
Let’s click on manage service to see what WPX has to offer.
If you click on Service details, you will see all the information about your purchased plan and server details. In this section, there is also a button for canceling the service.
The Manage Website section will help you manage your websites. In this section, you have the options to add new websites, create staging, send an optimization request, and send a migration request.
If you want to create staging, click on the button, and a small window will open.
WPX hosting allows you to create staging sites. A staging site is a copy of your WordPress site that you can use to test updates and stages.
To send an optimization request, click on the purple button and fill in all the information. Click Submit.
To send a migration request, you’ll also have to fill on a form. Type in all the information and then click Submit. WPX migration service is free and completed in 24 hours. The tech team from WPX can move your WordPress website to your new WPX hosting account.
By clicking on Add New website, a small window will open that requires you to choose the type of domain and then the new domain’s name. To finish, click on Add website.
The Databases section will give you an insight into MySQL databases. Here, you can have the databases displayed and then add, and delete the MySQL database. You can also add a database and access phpMyadmin.
Through the E-mail Boxes section, you can add an e-mail box. All WPX hosting plans include e-mail, and it allows you to send and receive e-mails using the address of your website’s domain’s name.
If you click on FTP Users, you’ll get to the window to add an FTP account. Although you can install WordPress through the WPX hosting client area, you can also access your space through FTP. You can also upload and download other files to your server space.
When I clicked on Edit DNS, a small window popped up. This feature is for advanced power users and can easily break my website. Therefore, I will not go any further with these options.
The File Manager will help you move, edit and delete files.
To do backups, first, click on the Backups button and then click to select a site.
