GoDaddy is a well-known web hosting and domain registrar company. It is an excellent option if you’re seeking a one-stop shop for web services, including domain registration, hosting, and easy-to-use website building tools, especially suited for small businesses and beginners in website creation.
GoDaddy is well-known to every hosting newbie and expert, and this GoDaddy hosting review will help you decide if it’s the perfect solution for your hosting needs. In the rest of this piece, I’ll give you a rundown of the host’s pricing plans, support, user-friendliness, and overall features.
Entrepreneur Bob Parsons founded GoDaddy in 1997. Its progress since then has been phenomenal. The platform offers web, virtual private server (VPS), and dedicated hosting. Their WordPress and WooCommerce plans enhance their portfolio. With their third-party reseller plans and GoDaddy Pro plan for multi-site management, GoDaddy displays its versatility and comprehensiveness.
In GoDaddy reviews, customers had conflicting feelings. HostAdvice has a 1.5 rating from 616 users, and 303 BBB reviews match it, despite the platform’s A+ rating. GoDaddy has a 4.7 rating on Trustpilot from 78,277 reviewers. These conflicting reviews show GoDaddy’s hosting customers’ different experiences.
In my opinion, GoDaddy is highly suitable for bloggers and personal website owners, providing user-friendly tools and affordable web hosting services for those with limited technical expertise.
GoDaddy may not be the best fit for large enterprises with high-traffic sites, and advanced developers needing extensive customization.
GoDaddy
GoDaddy stands as a global web hosting titan. Offering a comprehensive suite from domains to tailored hosting solutions, they’re trusted by millions worldwide. Ensure a seamless online presence with GoDaddy’s unmatched reliability and innovation.
There are tons of hosting providers available on the market. To effectively compare and rate hosts, our experts at HostAdvice created a standardized hosting rating methodology that rates hosts based on how they perform in relation to their competitors.
This allows you to get the most accurate representation of the host’s quality in each metric, which helps in deciding the best for your website. Let’s take a look at GoDaddy’s ratings.
While their hosting packages are great, GoDaddy is certainly not the cheapest option in the market, though they’re not the most expensive either. So an 8.0 rating is quite suitable.
Very user-friendly. Clean UI, popular app installs, a modern cPanel, and the GoDaddy builder for hassle-free site development. Not to mention their incredibly intuitive user management dashboard.
The main reason I gave GoDaddy a rating of 9.0 is for its incredibly intuitive website builder.
GoDaddy offers 24/7 support through a vast knowledgebase, phone, email, and socials. However, I’d give them 8.0 because they do not support live chat.
GoDaddy Pricing & Plans – 2024
GoDaddy offers a wide set of hosting plans – web hosting, web hosting plus, managed WordPress hosting, managed WordPress Ecommerce hosting, VPS hosting, and dedicated server hosting.
Each plan gives you an extensive set of tools and features plus a 30-day money-back guarantee that starts from the day of the transaction (only if you’ve not activated the product). They accept different payment methods including credit cards and Paypal.
Now let’s take a closer look at their different hosting packages, what each package offers, and who they’re best suited to:
GoDaddy’s Ultimate plan is their recommended web hosting plan for high traffic sites due to increased processing power, 75GB storage, free daily backups, unmetered bandwidth and other pro tools like free Microsoft 365 mailboxes and security.
TipTip: GoDaddy’s web hosting plans are designed for small and new websites not expecting much traffic. For e.g., portfolio websites, simple landing pages, etc.
GoDaddy’s 4 vCPU VPS plan gives you 4GB of RAM, 4 CPU cores, and 200GB NVMe SSD storage plus daily snapshot backups, 3 additional IP addresses and 4 global data centers.
TipTips: GoDaddy’s VPS plans offer scalable hosting resources, so these plans are best for businesses that experience exponential traffic growth and data demand. Examples of websites suitable for VPS hosting are eCommerce sites, news sites and big blogs.
GoDaddy’s DS-128 plan gives you 4GB of RAM, 4 CPU cores, and 200GB NVMe SSD storage plus daily snapshot backups, 3 additional IP addresses and 4 global data centers.
TipTip: GoDaddy’s dedicated plans are perfect for large enterprises and businesses that need their own dedicated, custom-built resources. These businesses have their own dedicated IT team with server management experience.

Next, let’s look at GoDaddy’s performance. Specifically, we’ll rate GoDaddy’s performance based on three important metrics namely – speed, uptime, and average website loading time. These metrics are absolutely crucial to consider, but what do they mean?
To find out a host’s server speed, we simply look at its “time to first byte” (or TTFB) value, which shows the speed by which the servers can send the first byte of data to a user visiting your website.
A host’s uptime is basically their “online time”, which is how consistently the server stays accessible on the internet within a time period. A higher uptime means less downtime, which bodes well for your website.
Finally, your website’s average load time is how long it takes for a web page to be fully loaded. Fully loaded as in functional (i.e its elements can be clicked)
These metrics together determine how well your site will perform on the host. If your web host has a high TTFB, then your site will be delivered quicker. If your web hosting provider has a high uptime (99% by industry standard) then your site will be offline far less. Finally, page loading time is mostly determined by the content of your website.
Like most web hosting providers on the market, GoDaddy promises a 99.9% uptime guarantee. But I used GTMetrix to test everything myself. I ran the test on corporatelaw.jdsupra.com – a website hosted on GoDaddy.
These were the results:
The website’s TTFB was an impressive 150 ms and it’s fully loaded time of 1.2s, which is very good. They also had an excellent overall performance of 94%:

GoDaddy’s registration and sign-up process is incredibly easy and straightforward. To register on GoDaddy and have a functioning hosting account, you’ll have to buy one of their hosting plans.
Here’s how to sign up for an account on GoDaddy:
Visit the GoDaddy website homepage and click the “Start for Free” button:
You’ll be redirected to a page where you’ll be prompted to sign up with your email, Google account or Facebook.
Once you choose an account and click Sign up, an account will be created for you and you’ll be prompted to configure your hosting account in a 2-step process. Fill in your info and personal details accordingly
In this case, I’m being asked what I want to name my website with. Once you have chosen a preferred name, click next to proceed. You’ll be led to your intuitive website builder to customize your website’s layout and UI
Here you can build elements from scratch or download already-made themes from the marketplace to save time.
GoDaddy Control Panel
Upon signing up, GoDaddy gives you access to a modern updated version of the traditional cPanel control panel from where you’re going to manage your website and configure your hosting account.
To log in to your cPanel, simply Go to your GoDaddy product page. Under Web Hosting, next to the Linux Hosting account you want to use, click Manage. Now you’re in the Dashboard for your Linux Hosting account.
Installing WordPress on GoDaddy
The best part of using GoDaddy hosting is that you have WordPress pre-installed on all shared web hosting and WordPress hosting plans. It doesn’t just stop there, the WordPress CMS is pre-installed with access to thousands of extensions, plugins, and themes.
Your WordPress is also updated automatically. That way, you don’t need to worry about installing the right WordPress version because GoDaddy handles it for you!
Add an email account on GoDaddy
The process for setting up email accounts on GoDaddy is quite straightforward. Here are the steps:
Click Add user to create an account. Keep in mind that, as a previously deleted user, you won’t be allowed to use your credit to do this until the previous account is deleted.
Choose one of the following steps based on the number and type of users you presently have in your account:
If multiple accounts are present, select your preferred Microsoft 365 account type then click Get started.
If only one account is present, just skip this step and proceed.
If there are no users at all, then you need to purchase a new Microsoft 365 account so you can add users.
Pick your preferred domain and click Continue. You can also link an external domain. Provide the required details in the Create new email account page. Click Create and you’re all done.
Conclusion: Do We Recommend GoDaddy?
Without a doubt, yes. GoDaddy is one of the best web hosts in the world. Why else would 21 million people use their services? Their plans are reasonably priced and give you value for your money.
It’s also very easy to use, regardless of whether you’re a hosting newbie or a hosting expert. Their support is excellent, though the only issue would be their lack of support for live chat in certain domains.
Not to mention their solid, feature-rich WordPress plans which provide everything you need to host and manage your WordPress site without hassles.
Overall, I thoroughly recommend them!

Free Domain + Fastest Hosting at $1/month Really Worthy
I’ve used GoDaddy WordPress Hosting for one of my blogs and found this hosting Really Amazing. Because I was already doing Blogging So I was so much excited for this new Hosting and I done so many Test(Page Speed, Server Uptime and Support) and the results that I got are really good. I think you should also use GoDaddy Services.
Worst web hosting company in the world. Their consultants do not know their own offer and do not know what “ftp” means – sometimes you have to teach them the basics, otherwise they won’t even accept the application. This hosting is for kids, retirees and teenagers (blog writing). Run away from these losers.

I liked the features that I saw on GoDaddy. I purchased the Domain, and began building my site that was suppose to take 1 hour. Instead, I spent 7 hours on a platform that only looked good, but the Functionality is TERRIBLE!! Errors Errors And more Errors! The RSS Feed Code DID NOT WORK, Embedded Code DID NOT WORK, and the Embedded Forms in the Platform DID NOT WORK!! I contacted “Tech Support” 4 Times, and not a single GoDaddy Rep was willing to do their job! All I heard were more instructions that contradicted the How To Videos, and left me with the responsibility of Fixing Their Platform!!
I would like to thank you for your feedback and I am sorry to hear that our website builder caused these complications. As this is not a typical experience for our customers we would like to look into this further. If you can message us at research@feedback.godaddy.com with associated account information we can then follow up on this information.
GoDaddy.com is easily the scummiest domain website out there. They will located domains that have been searched, buy them up, and then attempt to extort money out of you so that you buy their trash broker service for $70 and then make you buy the domain for a lot more money. Dont ever give this website your money. They should go out of business asap. Garbage people.
Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear of the disappointments you have had with our domain registration and domain broker services. To offer clarity on one of your concerns; As a practice, GoDaddy does not purchase domain names that have been searched for on our system. Our customers are allowed to register domain names and list them for sale, if you are seeing a premium price on a domain name that was set be either the current registrant of that domain name, or the registry of the domain name. We appreciate you sharing your experience to help us better understand how to meet our customers needs,
I own an online marketing company and I’ve always used GoDaddy and recommended GoDaddy to my clients. Their services have always been a little clunky and has had it’s issues but their customer service was the one reason I stuck with them for so many years. Their customer service was impeccable for seemingly a decade. Now it seems they have outsourced their customer service and it is atrocious. Issues take 3+ calls to resolve now, the wait times are much longer, and the service reps seem absolutely incompetent. The only reason I’ve ever truly had to stick with GoDaddy for over a decade is now gone and I’ll be moving my clients and my domain, email, and web hosting needs elsewhere.
Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear about the frustrations you have encountered with our customer support and appreciate your time in sharing this. I would like to investigate your recent experiences to learn where we can better meet our customers needs. Would you be able to tell me a domain name associated with the account? With this information we can review these opportunities for improvement.
